Superior Structure Case Study

Superior Structure is a commercial plaza located in Tampa, Florida. Home to various businesses and stores that rely on the aesthetics of the building to attract consumers, the plaza values superior lighting that is sufficiently bright and appealing.

Our Customer

Looking to decrease maintenance costs and needs, as well as enhancing its work environment, the owner of Superior Structures turned to HTM Lighting Solutions to provide the building with a LED solution.

Our Solution

After careful analysis, and understanding the customer requirements' and expectations, HTM Lighting Solutions, alongside Henriquez Electric Corp offered:

8x 175W HID wall packs with 8x 45W LED Wall Packs,
2x 250W HID parking lot lights with 2x 80W LED Retrofit Kits, and
4x 250W HID wall packs with 4x 80W LED Corn Light Bulbs.

Results & Benefits

Due to the upgrade from HID to LED, the owner of Superior Structures will save $1,520 a year on his electricity bill. Prior to the LED lighting installation, the lights used a total energy consumption of 2.9kW. The new LED lighting only uses a total energy consumption of 0.84kW, therefore the owner is saving a total of 2.06kW.

Most importantly, the owner has significantly reduced his annual maintenance and replacement costs. On average, the HID bulbs that the owner previously used lasted about 1-2 years. In contrast, the LED replacements last about 11.45 years. The owner of Superior Structures will now have to change out the light bulbs on his property 6 times less than he used to.

Even more, after the 50,000 hour-lifetime of the LED bulbs, the LED bulbs will not turn off, they will continue to emit 70% of the light they originally emitted. Unlike HID bulbs, LED bulbs will not completely burn out after their guaranteed lifetime, which lessens the need to replace the light bulbs very often even more.

Overall, the owner of Superior Structures will need to replace the light bulbs of his establishment much less often than he previously needed to. This will save him a large amount of money on hiring a professional to replace the bulbs every 1-2 years. Furthermore, the owner will save money on the equipment needed to replace light bulbs, such as a lift. By investing in LED light bulbs, the subsidiary effects of LED lighting will allow the owner of Superior Structures to save a significant amount of money over time.
